This is the time of year when we primarily weed the garden and enjoy the beauty of blossoms and little fruits promising tasty meals. The bitter greens are producing well and have provided some already, while the lettuces are almost all eaten by now, but the second lettuce crop is doing fine. Below are some of those bitter, yet quite pretty greens (Swiss chard), ready to be washed and prepared for dinner.
So today I am sharing various odds and ends that presented themselves to the photographically inclined observer. Featured are bean blossoms.
Honey bee (presumably Apis mellifera) and striped cucumber beetle (Acalymma vittatum) inside a zucchini blossoms.
Purple dinner-plate dahlia, about to show color.
“Cosmonaut Volkov” tomatoes, if I am not much mistaken.
“Provider” bush beans, soon to be on the dinner plate!
