Yard in Grayscales

Inspired by fellow photography bloggers I converted my latest winter-yard-shots to gray-scale. Enjoy.

Inspired by fellow photography bloggers I converted my latest winter-yard-shots to gray-scale.  Back in the day when my stepfather was still developing his photos himself, I always loved it when he stuck with black and white rather than color photos.  There is something special about gray-scales.

Today, a simple click does the trick.  Disappointing, that.  I can still remember the smell of those chemicals he used in his Dunkelkammer, though…

Well, enough of the nostalgia.  Here it goes:

Can you spot the tufted titmouse?

  1. As a teacher I taught photography as an option and worked also in a miniature Dunkelkammer with b/w images. That was real fun for me to teach and for the eager students to learn. Great monochrome work!

    1. Now that you mention it, I recall doing a course like that myself, as a student. Funny that it had slipped my mind until you mentioned it in connection with school. Memory is such a funny thing…
