The days are longer again than the nights!

Welcome, Spring Days!  At 12:15pm today was the moment when day and night had exactly the same length here in our neck of the woods.  Are you there yet?  Have a look:

This day and its rituals are probably most known to us anymore in the form of Easter customs, and indeed, Easter celebrates the same principles that people all over the world throughout history have celebrated when the days finally were longer than the nights again.

And while Easter proper is still almost two weeks off this year, let me invite you to not let this astronomical day pass without thankfulness.  We made it through the dark half of the year.  From here on, it should be smooth sailing until mid-September!
